Troncone (Adr): "Pioneer asset for decarbonization strategy by 2030"

Rome, June 3 (Adnkronos) – “An iconic project for us because it brings together many of our strategy’s assets, certainly the decarbonisation that will see the light by 2030. Here the focus converges on technological innovation in which we are investing so much, in this case it concerns a storage capacity that is currently out of the market as an accessory technology for renewable production.

In this sector it is unthinkable to move alone, it is important to co-opt the best excellences of the country and Europe, to support a path of environmental transition that is complex but on which we are proceeding with great determination”, states Marco Troncone, CEO of Aeroporti di Roma, on the sidelines of the presentation of the Pioneer project created by Aeroporti di Roma and Enel, presented at the Hilton Garden Inn Roma Airport. “This plant is not sufficient, it has an accumulation capacity that could be increased given the enormous increase that we foresee in photovoltaic regeneration with a plan that will reach over 60 Magawatts. Today, non-innovative accumulation systems like this are not necessarily on the market. We are waiting for technology to bring costs to sustainable levels, alternatively our solar farm will work in a system with our traditional power supply which will be converted to biomethane by 2030”.
